Our story at Magnolia Hills Farm is deeply rooted in a rich family tradition of cultivating the land. For generations, my family has been involved in the plant business, starting with my grandparents' farm in Canada where they grew bountiful vegetables and fruits. As a child, I cherished memories of growing zinnias and pumpkins, which I eagerly sold alongside my grandfather at the local market. This early exposure instilled a lifelong passion for gardening. My mother continued this legacy, launching a successful greenhouse business 40 years ago that my sisters have since grown into a thriving enterprise. This strong foundation in horticulture has shaped who we are today.
Cultivating with care
At Magnolia Hills Farm, we believe in sustainable and natural practices that honor the earth. We are proud to employ no-till farming methods, ensuring the health and vitality of our soil without harsh chemicals. All our plants begin their journey as seeds, carefully nurtured indoors during the winter months. As spring arrives, these seedlings are tenderly transplanted into our fields, ready to bloom under the Virginia sun. This hands-on approach ensures that every flower we grow is vibrant and healthy, reflecting our commitment to both quality and environmental stewardship. Furthermore, my 30 years as a teacher, where I cultivated a garden with my students each school year, instilled in me the value of hands-on learning and nurturing growth, much like our hydroponic gardens that thrive without soil.
